About Jonathan Marsico

Acrylic painter, Jonathan Marsico has created paintings, which are well-known across the United States and Europe, due to their historical and pictorial importance. His paintings, which wander between optimism and pessimism, order and chaos, strongly reflect the important events of the evolution of his life. By taking control of the flow and stain of his artworks, Marsico manages to manipulate large canvases in creative ways.
This painter, who was born in 1971 Denver, Colorado, has developed his talent since the early age of five.

During high school, he stopped to paint, because he faced the criticism of his teachers, who do not fully understood his art.

He graduated at law at the Sturm College of Law of University of Denver and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree with magma cum laude honors. Soon he realized that this is not a suitable profession for him.

Thus, Marsico enrolled at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design to graduate with magma cum laude honors. He holds a Bachelor in Fine Arts (BFA) degree.

Over the years, Marsico has been trying various techniques. He found out that the acrylic technique is the best for him.

Most of his artworks are landscapes. Marsico gave landscape art a new dimension by portraying nature as a metaphor for the dark aspects of human psychology. His favorite subjects are simple forest scenes and he is particularly famous for his depiction of clouds and trees.

In some of his artworks, Marsico also combines dreamlike visions of an ancient past with beautiful observed effects of sunrise and sunset. Jonathan Marsico also includes the sun itself as a source of light in his paintings.
